Q&A

How has 2020 events affected your work?

The events of 2020 have definitely affected my art. I was working full time in an art gallery/picture framing shop until March of 2020. At that time, our shop had to close for six weeks. I almost hate to say it, but those six weeks were the best of my life... I got to paint full time! It was bliss. No anxiety about rushing out to work, I was able to just relax and paint....and paint I did! I feel my work has greatly improved since then.

What is the Ultimate goal for your art?

My ultimate goal for art is to become skilled in combining figurative realism with a bit of abstraction.

Which was your breakthrough piece? Tell us more about it.

My breakthrough piece would have to be “Urban Immersion”. It was accepted to the show “Storytellers” through 33 Contemporary,...my first online show. That was exciting enough, but come to find out it will be launched to the moon on the Lunar Codex as well! This piece also won an honorable mention in the Boldbrush Art Competition in 2020.

Who is your art crush and why?

My art crush right now is Alex Kanevski. I love his style of disrupted realism. His multilayered work flows so effortlessly marrying realism with abstraction. Just brilliant!
